General Manager – Regional Operations

Sam Straka is the General Manager – Regional Operations of Wärtsilä Energy Business customer lifecycle support team in the North Region that covers Canada, USA and the Caribbean. Sam began his career with Wärtsilä Finland in early 2000 doing his thesis work for Wärtsilä Power Plant Technology group and part time work at Wärtsilä Power Plants Projects and in 2005 moved to the US to join Wärtsilä North America as Field Service Engineer. With over 15 years of experience in Wärtsilä projects, electrical engineering, installation, commissioning, technical support, sales support and technical sales Sam continues to grow and use his knowledge to develop solutions for Wartsila customers.

Sam holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Technology from NOVIA, University of Applied Sciences in Vaasa, Finland. Sam resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his wife and son and enjoys spending time on the beach and traveling with his family.
